Bathroom Inspiration

it's time...

to renovate.

It's been WAY too long since I've posted anything. I know. I've sat down many times to write... but life. However, I have good news!

The time has finally arrived. A few more nuts and bolts to tighten but it looks like we will be renovating our bathroom in the near future! Our little bungalow of a house is so wonderful but our bathroom and kitchen are in dire need of some love... Many friends appreciate our quirky bathroom but it's lack of function and many layers of paint and wallpaper is starting to drive me insane. So... YAY!

I've been saving pins to a secret pinterest board in preparation for this very day. While many of the things I would like are a bit out of our price range, I am determined to make it as chic and relaxing as possible. I will do my best to keep the blog updated with our plans and progress.  For now.... INSPIRATION!!!!!

I can't get enough of this bathroom by LUFT Design.  The black wall mounted faucet, light wood mounted vanity, black hardware and white tile are so well balanced... *sigh*.

The use of two different colors of tile to create a graphic look is genius! Again, yes with the light wood.  And that fixture... industrial and elegant. I love the use of the wood on the ceiling and the obvious ventilation system. Feels honest and raw yet remains refined.

For the shower I keep going back and forth... since our bathroom is small, I like the idea of keeping with one type of tile for the walls... but seriously... this bookmatching marble with the wall to wall horizontal cutout is tres chic! This may not work for cost but I will google search until my eyes bleed to get as close as possible to this feel.

The white penny tiles with the mid-dark grey grout may be a good option for us considering it's slightly easier to keep clean.  The way they run it from the floor up the wall is badass and a nice homage to a classic style. Pair it with light wood and a black window = Design Bliss.

Ultimately, we want something clean and inviting. A little elegance is always a nice touch but we are a pretty casual family who like movie marathons and Saturday morning bike rides. Jordan and I are also pretty clear with our individual design aesthetics... let's hope we can get them to mesh into a perfect space for us all. We'll see where our imagination and budget take us!  Keep you posted. - ash
